Accessibility Statement

Meigs County Public Transit is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including riders who use assistive technology.

Our commitment

We want every rider to be able to find schedule information, learn how to ride, and reach our staff, regardless of ability or the device they use. We build and maintain this site with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our target standard, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a one-time project.

What we do

Write in plain language and keep page structure simple and consistent.
Use headings, lists and labels that screen readers can navigate.
Provide text alternatives for photographs and graphics.
Check color contrast so text remains readable, and allow text to be enlarged.
Make every function reachable with a keyboard, without requiring a mouse.
Support phones, tablets and desktop computers.

Known limitations

Some documents on this site, including plans and complaint forms, are published as PDF files that were prepared by outside agencies. These may not be fully accessible to screen readers. If you need the content of any document on this site in another format, contact us and we will provide it in large print, by phone, in person, or in another format that works for you, at no charge.

Accessible service, not just an accessible website

Every vehicle in our fleet is wheelchair accessible. We welcome mobility aids, portable oxygen and service animals, and drivers provide door-to-door assistance on request. If a policy or procedure prevents you from using our service because of a disability, you may ask us to change it. See Reasonable Modification Request or our ADA and Title VI information.

Tell us about a problem

If you have trouble using any part of this website, or you need information from it in a different format, please let us know. Tell us the page you were on and what happened, and we will help you directly and work on a fix.

If you believe you have been discriminated against on the basis of disability, you may file a complaint. Our complaint procedure and forms are on the Accessibility page.
